This course brings together knowledge from robotics, artificial intelligence, language processing, image analysis, cognitive psychology, and other fields to enable robots to have more natural and more efficient interactions with humans. The course deals primarily with how we create and evaluate such rich interactions, but also how psychological and sociological aspects are taken into consideration in the design process. More specifically, the course covers a sub-set of the topics levels of autonomy, shared control, remote presence, robot learning, attention, priming, imitation, emotion and intention recognition, natural language understanding, gesture and facial recognition, proxemics, anthropomorphism, trust, responsibility, and robot ethics. The studies will be a mix of theoretical studies of earlier work in the area, and practical development of algorithms and software for robots interacting with humans. Utöver de kurser som finns listade som förkunskapskrav krävs även minst två års avklarade studier.
